Paper published in Optica chosen as cover image

BiOpticaCoverNov2014_11-14ng’s research into metamaterial polarizers was published in Optica today. The micrograph of the device was chosen for the cover image of the November issue of Optica. The paper describes a linear polarizer that shows a transmission efficiency of ~74%. This is achieved by allowing one polarization to transmit unperturbed, while the orthogonal polarization is rotated by 90 degrees.
